1954's Chevrolet Corvette C1
This pretty Corvette C1 arrived at our workshop with several problems, our mission was to take care of the engine cover, the front left headlight tower, various cracks on the body, and also to find it the original blue of C1, the famous Pennant Blue.
Mathieu started by taking back the fiber of the engine cover because an air intake had been installed there in the past. The opening had been plugged back but eventually sagged over time. Mathieu therefore had to re-fiber the engine cover in order to restore it to its original shape.
The left front headlight tower had been poorly repaired and had eventually suffered the damage of time. For his replacement Mathieu made a mold from the existing part, and was thus able to manufacture a new lighthouse tower.
The entire body was also examined in order to fill in any cracks that may have been created in the fiber. In order to ensure that they are all repaired, the body has been completely resin-treated.
Finally, all the chrome fittings have been put in place on the body in order to be perfectly adjusted to obtain a harmonious rendering.
It only remained for us to pass this Corvette C1 in revernis finish paint. Not finding the information for the Pennant Blue shade in France, we contacted American colleagues who sent us a paint sample so that we could recreate the shade in our workshop. We have also repainted the rims in a bright red for the most beautiful effect, which gives it back its vintage side.
The upholstery closed the restoration of this American for a very luminous rendering.
