Mercedes 350SL

This 1972 Mercedes 350SL was entrusted to us for partial restoration with a return to its original color.

Upon arrival at our workshop with a metallic blue color, we first disassembled it. Removal and disassembly of all removable components, as well as all hardware parts on the body. A thorough disassembly was done to repaint all the nooks and crannies so that the color change isn't noticeable.

Once the components were stripped down, they were sandblasted both externally and internally. The body itself was mechanically stripped on its entire exterior, as well as the wheel arches.

Now that everything is down to the metal, we noticed that certain parts were corroded. The front fender bottoms, trunk floor panels, rocker panels, and lower wheel arches had to be remade. All open parts received an anti-corrosion treatment before welding the new sheet metal pieces.

Once the metalwork was completed, an anti-corrosion treatment was applied to the exposed areas, followed by a primer. Sheet metal joints were treated and sealed, and the wheel arches covered with a light anti-gravel coating for better protection and durability.

The interior of the trunk was repainted in satin black, consistent with the original. The body, as well as the engine compartment and wheel arches, regained the original metallic green color, just like when it left the Mercedes factory.

We then reassembled and adjusted the body parts for perfect alignment and harmonious lines. All coverings were cleaned and restored.

The finished car is quite stunning in its beautiful green attire.
